Chris Mullen earned a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University in Interdisciplinary Studies, with an emphasis in Reading and Early Childhood Education. "I love enriching the lives of my students," he explains. "Being a part of success stories over and over is what keeps me motivated to do better every year." Mr. Mullen joined CEP in 2011, having previously taught at St. Francis Episcopal Day School in Houston, and in the Lamar Consolidated school district in Richmond. Mr. Mullen says his teaching techniques are anything but rigid. "I am extremely flexible and am able to tune in to the interests of my classes," he says. By providing a learning environment that is fun, stimulating and safe, he feels he allows his students the freedom for imaginative thinking. Mr. Mullen served as a featured presenter at the annual convention of the National Association for the Education of Young Children in Orlando in 2011, Los Angles in 2010, Washington, D.C., in 2009, and Chicago in 2007. Perhaps most importantly, he's not just a Calvary teacher, but also a proud Calvary dad. When they're not at school, Mr. Mullen enjoys playing guitar, writing children's stories, playing basketball and, of course, going fishing and watching Aggie football with his sons.
